Our next Frugal Design Showcase Home will be held on June 19th & 20th, 2009. .
WE WILL DECORATE EVERY INCH OF A NEW HOME USING ONLY THRIFT STORE MERCHANDISE!
This June another model home in CreekSide, a premier development off Highway 191 minutes from Historic Downtown Hendersonville, will be completely decorated with furniture and furnishings found at the thrift stores operated by the participating nonprofit agencies. Every room in the home will be move-in ready - complete with furniture, rugs, artwork, nick-nacks, and window treatments. The event will take place on Friday, June 19th and on Saturday, June 20th.
Five local nonprofits are participating in this special fundraiser. Included are the Council on Aging, Four Seasons, Habitat for Humanity, Housing Assistance, and Mainstay. Participating agencies will benefit from this event by sharing ticket sales, proceeds from the sale of all the furnishings in the home, and ultimately from the increased awareness of what is available at thrift stores, resulting in more shoppers and increased sales.
Mountain Building and Development, Inc. (MBDI) will again donate the use of one of their model homes in CreekSide. This development combines the best features of old-time neighborhoods with the newest thinking about convenient, inviting community design. Broad state-approved roads wind among 71 homesites, a neighborhood park, natural green spaces and walking trails.
